iPod hits the battlefield – for more than music

Translation that works

Translation that works

Interesting article this afternoon in the latest edition of the Military daily rag; Stars and Stripes.  Seems the military has a new device called the VCommunicator Mobile” which allows a one-way translation of phrases used in common situations in the war zones.  Presently some 700 models are already in use in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Due to the success of the iPod in the battlefield, the Military today has decided to ship 500 Zune MP3 players from Microsoft to the Taliban.
