This is actually a choice ?

Img_0003_4For those that did not know, we do have a choice here while deployed…

Far right are two ‘male’ options for the ‘portas…on-the-spots" call it what you would like.

The 3 on the left of the picture are what is known as ‘Eastern Style".  The difference – no toilet seat.  Correct.  One big hole. In military terms, whiskey-tango-foxtrot.

Sure, this falls under one of the Diversity University topics, but I can not get this one.  Look, I can handle the whole ‘don’t wave with the left hand’ thing, the prayer times in the middle of everything to worship – all for it.  Go nuts.  But "hover, squat and aim" vice sitting down ?  Sorry.  I just don’t get this one. It’s right up there with electricity and the Amish.  Some things in life have actually improved our living.  I never realized the toilet seat made the list of ‘optional improvements’.

They actually have two types, male and female.  I’m not sure what the difference is here either, because let’s face it – once you are ‘sitting down’ does it really matter at this point ?  Nor do I have any intention on doing any INTEL to find out the difference.  This isn’t like a Marriott or Hilton where you want to see how plush the towels the other team has.  It’s a hole…and this is iLife During Duty.

  1. OMG! They’re having the same problem at the Olympics in China, don’t you know. Sure, I’m exposing my capitalist-pig western bias, but EWWWWWWW!!!!! Why can’t they do like civilize folk and spend some money with American Standard on some porcelain? There’s taking that PC stuff too far, and this is it!!
